Eat Pray Love

Searching through Kindle books last night I found a section Amazon: Most Highlighted Passages Of All Time

Highlighted by 3885 Kindle users.

People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that's holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake.

-Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

As I read this passage I realized how truly blessed I am to have my soul mate. My husband pushes me to be a better person in every way: spiritually, physically and emotionally.

Getting back on board after a glorious Spring break!

Fast Train Mama

(Source)

If it works stick with it!

Down another 1.2 lbs.

Hubby was noticing my weight loss and jumped on board the fasting train:)

The Fast Diet works!

So I jumped on the stair machine at the gym with him to prove I could do it.

Broke out into a major sweat! Heat rises and the machine is elevated so high all I could feel was the heat from the room. It was an amazing motivation to work out beside your partner in crime:)

We are heading out of town for Easter break next week and I am definitely looking forward to spending time with my family. Lots of walking and of course vacation munching!

Taste of the Beach

What an amazing week! We took a couple of days off and headed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Our nephew flew in from St. Louis on Thursday so it was a weekend filled with family and food.

We went out for dinner Friday night for Taste of the Beach by the Outer Banks Restaurant Association.

We chose Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe as a recommendation from a awesome realtor. Food was amazing and service was outstanding! I had the Buffalo Shrimp as an appetizer and the Shrimp Fettuccine for my main course. Everything was fresh local seafood!

After eating out all weekend I truly thought the scale would rise. Jumping on the scale this morning I am down 1.6 lbs!

I am still doing the Fast Diet 2 days a week which seems to be working well. Additionally, I am keeping a written log of everything I consume in order to keep me accountable during the Fast Diet. Since we were out of town gym time has been lacking but I plan on getting back into the swing of things by the weekend.

Fast Diet

Who has heard of the Fast Diet?

I actually had the radio on in the car for once (no cartoons blaring) hearing about the Fast Diet 5:2 and Dr. Michael Mosley.

Fast Diet book is based on the documentary Eat, Fast and Live Longer - Horizon. The first release of the book Fast Diet was in the UK. Amazon UK Fast Diet book has over positive 738 reviews and the testimony reviews are amazing!

The the Fast Diet is based on intermittent fasting on a weekly 5:2. Two days of 500 calorie intake continued with eat what you like the rest of the time.

Using short-term calorie restriction/fasting may be effective when it comes to:
  • Reducing blood glucose and insulin levels
  • Increasing fatty acid oxidation
  • Sparing and preserving muscle tissue
  • Increasing various health factors (lower inflammation, lower blood pressure, reduced oxidative stress, increased protection against neuro-degenerative diseases and more)
  • Keeping the metabolism strong/healthy

I dived in!

First week of results: Weight loss 2.2lbs!

Finally breaking my plateau:)

Workouts

Wednesday: Fast
Thursday: PiYo
Friday: Fast
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: Rest
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Fast & PiYo

What do you think about the Fast Diet 5:2?

MS Possible

In 2005, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Usually I only get extreme reactions once every 3 months.

Personally, it takes everything I have just to move my aching body out of the bed during these weeks. The hubby says he can always tell because one of my eyes looks extremely smaller, or slight eye drooping in my right eye.

It has definitely been a MS-ing week!

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another.

After initial diagnoses, I was with an amazing team of MS specialist in Augusta, Georgia. Which gave me added hope in my future for having a fulfilling life with children.

I have high expectations of myself on a physical level because I know that I need to optimize taking care of myself in order to live a long and productive life.

I try to be a positive force of nature in all circumstances, as I know that I am Blessed and there are people who have far worse life-threatening conditions.

I can do all thing through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Every step you take matters in making a better version of yourself!
